To be considered for the course, applicants must submit the following documents along with their application forms: A certified copy of the applicant`s identity card; and proof of entitlement: • A certified copy of the LLB degree of the applicant of an SA university or an original letter from the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the relevant university stating that the student has obtained his LLB degree; or • a certified copy of the applicant`s BProc financial statements published before 31 December 2004; or • A certified copy of the written proof of a law degree obtained abroad recognized by SAQA as equivalent to the SA LLB diploma and a certified copy of the written proof of such recognition by SAQA. As a distance learning school, it offers practical professional training in collaboration with the University of South Africa (UNISA). The school remains open to students who could not be admitted to schools (LEAD) because they have fully subscribed to their set maximum number of admissions. To give law graduates the opportunity to acquire and develop practical legal skills to become effective legal practitioners. The training is provided by practicing lawyers, and the school makes every effort to employ lawyers who are experts and/or specialists in the field of modules or courses in which they will present or give lectures. The School of Legal Practice provides guides and short courses useful for practice and exam preparation.
