What Is the Highest Honor in the Baylor Business School
The Business Education Award: Awarded to the degree that seeks certification in business education and has the greatest potential to become an outstanding teacher. The Evelyn McFatridge Brashears Award: These awards are presented in the name of Charles E. McFatridge in honor of his sister Evelyn M. Brashears, former English teacher at UMBH: Vignette Award, All Literature Award and Poetry Award. Presented to the student who makes the most progress in the academic discipline of English during the academic year. The recipient is chosen by members of the University`s English faculty. Delta Psi Theta Award: Awarded annually by Delta Psi Theta, UMHB Mathematics Society, to the student with the highest score in calculus I. Baylor was highly ranked in the program rankings, which came from university presidents, provosts and admissions deans who were asked to name the best outstanding schools in each category. The Provost`s Medal: Awarded at the beginning to the senior with the highest cumulative grade point average in four years. Beneficiaries must spend at least 60 hours at the UMHB.
Award for Excellence in Christian Studies: This award is given to the graduate with the highest GPA in the College of Christian Studies, who also demonstrates outstanding Christian character and service. Laura Cole Award: Awarded to the senior nursing student selected by the Faculty of Nursing as an outstanding member of the graduating class. The award is based on scholarships, leadership and service. This award was established in honour of Dr. Anna Laura Cole, Director Emeritus of Scott and White Memorial Hospital College of Nursing. The Dean`s Academic Honor List recognizes Baylor University students for their outstanding academic work. Students on the Dean`s List have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.70 semester points with no grade below “C” while being enrolled in at least 12 semester hours marked. The winners of the Dean`s List are selected and announced three times per school year: fall, spring and summer. Austin Burks Award: Awarded annually to the outstanding art historian.
This award is sponsored by the Department of Arts and selected by the Faculty of Arts based on academic achievement and artistic ability. This award is presented in honour of Dr. Ted Austin and Ms. Maurine Burks, aged 25 and 25 respectively. taught art at the UMHB for 21 years. Kappa Mu Epsilon Award: Presented annually by the Texas Kappa Chapter of Kappa Mu Epsilon, National Mathematics Honor Society, to the student with the highest score in abstract algebra. Baylor`s highest-ranked program is Undergraduate Entrepreneurship, which has risen to No. 8 nationally in U.S. news rankings. Baylor Undergraduate Entrepreneurship is located within the Hankamer School of Business and is also the highest-ranked program in Texas, ahead of UT-Austin (No. 9), University of Houston (No. 12) and TCU (No.

Hutmacher Scholarly Writing Award: Awarded annually for the best presentation of literary studies in honor of Dr. W. F. Hutmacher, a faculty member in the UMHB Department of English for 22 years. Dean`s Award for the School of Exercise and Sport Science: Awarded annually to a senior who aspires to an EXSS major and has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills at the school.
Outstanding academic achievements as well as Christian ethical and moral standards are important criteria in the selection of recipients. The Freshman Science Award: Awarded annually to the freshman who has the highest grade in general chemistry. Most Business Fellows and Hankamer Scholars will take two courses for honor credits in the fall, ECO 1380 and another student-choice specialization course. The right options are a first-year seminar (various topics). Students in premedical affairs should consider a specialization section of BIO 1305 or CHE 1301. Pre-law students should consider an honorary portion of a humanities or social studies course such as REL 1310 or PSC 1387. McLane College of Business Dean`s Award: Awarded annually to an Elder who aspires to a McLane College of Business major and who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, scholarship, integrity and potential to become a respected business leader.
